Bishkek, Mar.6, 2020. /Kabar/. The situation with medical masks in pharmacies is tense, Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Tolo Isakov told reporters.

According to him, the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (the Financial Police) of the Kyrgyz Republic has revealed an attempt to export 1.5 million masks, now there is a process of confiscation. Then they will be handed over to medical institutions.

"A request to provide test-systems and individual protection means was also sent to Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing). We received a positive response.

In addition, the issue of delivery of equipment for the manufacture of medical masks is being discussed, the issue is now being worked out," said Isakov.

Besides, the country’s deputy health minister added the health care organizations currently have 468,176 disposable medical masks, 62,215 disinfectants, 4,345 protective suits, N95 or FPP2 protective masks in the amount of 67,469.

"Through talks with the Health Ministries of Russia and Turkey, we received 2500 test-systems from Rospotrebnadzor, Turkey handed over 100 test-systems, 1000 test-systems were transferred through the WHO.

A total of 1,289 people were examined for coronavirus, all of them have a negative result," said the chief medical officer.
